This week marked Miss Meow’s first adventure in rescuing street cats, thanks to a generous guest at Purr Vida Lounge who donated $200 after spotting some cats near their Airbnb.
Estaban
Armed with special treats, wet food, and a trusty cage, Miss Meow set out to find the cats. The main concern was a mother cat with four newborn kittens. Upon arrival, Miss Meow spotted two bigger kittens: Esteban, an orange kitten, and a tabby kitten. The tabby kitten was quite skittish and didn’t trust Miss Meow at all.
Tubby
First, Miss Meow managed to catch Esteban with her treats and wet food inside the cage. Esteban, lured by the delicious scent, went in, and Miss Meow successfully trapped him. Shortly after, a blue-eyed cat appeared. Though small, she was not the mother cat but clearly part of the group.
Mom Kitten
Miss Meow fed the blue-eyed cat to gain her trust, hoping she would lead her to the kittens. Unfortunately, after following the blue-eyed cat to a green area and searching inside and outside the Airbnb, there were no signs of the kittens.
Estaban Rescued
Determined to find them, Miss Meow decided to return regularly to feed the cats and continue her search. Esteban is now safe at Miss Meow’s Catio and will soon visit the vet to get neutered. Though he’s pretty wild and angry at Miss Meow, she hopes to gain his trust before the vet visit.
