Just a few days ago, we reached a huge milestoneāour 100th rescue! But this wasnāt just any rescue... it was one that shook our hearts and reminded us why Purr Vida Lounge exists.
Miss Meow received a late-night message from our dear friend Helen, who also helps rescue cats in Costa Rica. She was vacationing in Margaritaville when something unbelievable happened. A group of tourists swimming in the ocean found a box floating in the waterāwith kittens inside. Yes, someone had tried to throw away four tiny lives like garbage. Thankfully, the swimmers acted quickly and pulled them to safety.

Unsure what to do, the tourists turned to Helen. She contacted Miss Meow right away. Since it was already night, Helen took the kittens inācleaned them up, gave them wet food, and kept them warm in her car overnight until Miss Meow could arrive.
The next morning, Miss Meow rushed to meet Helen and brought the kittens straight to Dr. Cavallini, our trusted vet in Tamarindo. One of the white kittens looked like she had a broken leg, but it turned out to be a condition called Twisted Leg Syndrome. Itās a congenital issueānot from traumaāand while she canāt go to the bathroom on her own, Miss Meow is learning how to help her manually with love and care.

Now safe and sound, these four little miracles spend their days at Purr Vida Lounge and their nights at Miss Meowās home, growing stronger every day. Thereās one orange kitten, two black kittens, and our brave little white girl with special needs. Their lives have turned around 360°āfrom a box in the ocean to the arms of loving humans determined to give them a second chance.

We believe they were meant to be saved. And we know their perfect forever homes are waiting.
Please, friendsādonāt throw kittens into the ocean. Donāt abandon them. If you find kittens in need, bring them to us at Purr Vida Lounge. We will always find a way to help.
With love and whiskers,Miss Meow š±
