How Miss Meow Started Her Cat Café?

sayakadesign

Miss Meow is no ordinary 3D architectural designer. Based in Costa Rica, she has spent the last eight years crafting stunning homes, including Casa Royal, Casa Estrella, Casa Mandala, Villa Serine, Villa Diosa, Villa Justin, and Casa Wendy. Her portfolio boasts a blend of modern elegance and Costa Rican charm, and her work has earned her admiration far and wide. Yet, despite her thriving career, she found herself feeling incomplete.

"I was stuck at home, working on my computer, and I felt like I was missing something in my life," Miss Meow reflects. She began searching for that elusive piece of happiness that would bring her fulfillment beyond her designs. The answer came to her one day as she pondered her passions: cats and creating spaces that bring joy.

In 2024, Miss Meow launched her dream project, Purr Vida Lounge, a cat café where she could blend her love for design, her passion for rescuing cats, and her desire to connect people with furry companions. Costa Rica is a haven for animal rescue, but the focus often leans toward dogs. Stray cats, she noticed, were overlooked. She decided to change that by creating a space where people could enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, and perhaps find their next feline friend.

Building Purr Vida Lounge

Miss Meow started small. She reached out to local Facebook groups and cat rescue networks to find cats in need of homes. When Purr Vida Lounge opened its doors, it housed 12 cats. To her delight, six of them found new homes in just the first week. Encouraged by the response, she ramped up her rescue efforts, sometimes housing up to 30 cats at a time.

Purr Vida Lounge quickly became a cat lover's paradise. Visitors not only enjoyed delicious coffee and snacks but also got to interact with the playful, affectionate residents. Each adoption brought joy to both the cats and their new families, and Miss Meow felt a profound sense of purpose.

Challenges Along the Way

However, managing so many cats in one space came with its challenges. "One time, I had up to 30 cats," Miss Meow recalls. It was during this period that she encountered her first major obstacle as a cat café owner. What was it, you ask? Stay tuned for the next blog, where Miss Meow will share the problem she faced and the creative solution she implemented to overcome it.

Purr Vida Lounge is more than just a café; it’s a testament to Miss Meow’s dedication to her passions and her community. It’s a place where cats find homes, people find companionship, and everyone finds a little more happiness.

Miss Meow’s journey is just beginning, and she’s excited to share it with you, one paw-some story at a time!
